1 Corinthians 6:19-20 & Romans 12:1-2
Is God’s and not your own –
It is His holy temple,
The place He sets His throne?
For when Christ died He purchased
Your body and your soul;
Now you are His possession
And under His control.
So glorify the Savior
Who loves you as His own
In body and in spirit
Since both are His alone.
Present to Him your body
A living sacrifice
Transformed into His image
Whose mercy paid the price.
For it is only fitting
To serve the One who gave
His life to be the ransom
So He could love and save.
Don’t think, look, act, and talk like
The world He saved you from,
But grow in grace and knowledge
Till like Him you’ve become.
Your body is His temple,
Your smile will make it shine –
A beacon of His mercy
And gospel love divine.
Christina Joy Hommes
“What? know ye not that your body
is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which ye have of God,
and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God
in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God’s.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
