If you seek to rise
by pushing down those around you,
you will only surround yourself with a mote
which separates you from the world you sought to gain.
If you seek to rise
by lifting up those around you,
you will surround yourself with bridges
which lead you to the world you seek to reach.
My Heavenly Father
A little child is stilled
Within a moment’s time
If she can reach her father’s side,
And on his shoulders climb.
Her world becomes a calm
Once she has felt his hand;
She feels so safe when he is near,
When by him she can stand.
I have a Father too
Who is my Rock so dear;
I know I’m safe when He is near,
With Him I cannot fear.
No scheme can ever part
My Father’s hand and mine;
No mighty band can take me from
His side by keen design.
Let men prepare their worst,
My Father’s with me still;
They cannot shut His presence out,
Or make Him go at will.
And so I will not fear,
I’m always in His hand.
Wherever I may find myself
Beside me He will stand.

Heroes are not those who
never know fear,
but those who count the reward
worthy of the risk
and press on.
Will you be a hero of the faith today?
An echo resounds through the hallways of time –
Tis the voice of our Savior and Lord:
‘Reach the world with the Light. I am with you; fear not.
Share the gospel of hope in my Word.”
An echo resounds through the hallways of time –
Tis the voice of a mother that says,
‘Raise them up on the Word, send them forth to proclaim,
Love, encourage, and pray through long days.’
An echo resounds through the hallways of time –
Tis the voice of a martyr I hear:
‘Live and die holding forth the bright hope of the Light.
Christ is with you in truth, never fear.’
An echo resounds through the hallways of time –
Tis the voice of a preacher of Light:
‘Point the way to the cross and beyond to the crown.
Don’t give up or retreat from the fight.’
An echo resounds through the hallways of time –
Tis the gasp of a life almost past:
‘Point to Christ. He is near. He is worthy of all.
He has come. He’ll receive you at last.’
These echoes resound through the hallways of time –
Tis the charge given you, given me.
Will we take up the torch, give our all in the fight,
Leave an echo for those yet to be?

A man’s uniquely chosen
To represent to us
As father and as husband
To point us to Jesus.
To be a godly father
A man must look above
From where the Chief Example
Displays His perfect love.
To be a loving husband
A man must see a tree
Where Jesus died to pardon
His bride and set her free.
Oh what a precious calling
To represent God’s love,
How sweet that to fulfil it
His gaze must be above.
Lord, pour Your love and favor
On all our men today,
That they might then reflect it
Throughout their lives each day.
