Christ is Risen

Christ is risen from the grave
Strong to pardon, strong to save.
His own self He freely gave –
Hallelujah!

Christ’s humility has turned
God’s great wrath which once we spurned.
True obedience He learned –
Hallelujah!

Christ made up the hedge to break
All the judgement we should take.
He has suffered for our sake –
Hallelujah!

Christ has paid the debt we owed,
His reward on us bestowed.
There remains no guilt, no load –
Hallelujah!

Christ has entered heaven first,
All our sentence He reversed.
We will go where He’s traversed –
Hallelujah!

Christ will come our glorious King
All His own to finally bring
To His home where we will sing
Hallelujah!
