I Trust in God Almighty

I trust in God almighty
Because He’s in control;
These things do not surprise Him
Who keeps and heals my soul.

He is my shield and tower,
My refuge in the storm;
I will not fear the tempest –
His promise He’ll perform.

I’ll call on God my Savior
For help in trouble’s hour,
Then do His will relying
Upon His mighty pow’r.

And I will count the blessings
My God has given me,
And thank Him for the favor
Which day by day I see.

Whatever might distract me,
The things that weigh me down,
I will forsake for Jesus
That I might gain the crown.

I’ll look for ways to honor
The people that I love,
And how I can encourage
Some soul to look above.

O Lord, my God, I trust You
Without complaint or fear;
Show me Your love and teach me
That You are always near.
