Is Your Field Dry?
He took a boat across the sea;
As soon as He had arrived
A man possessed by demons came
Of social grace deprived.
Despite their strength those spirits feared
The Son of God on earth,
They pled to enter swine who fled.
(About 2,000 worth.)
The city came and saw the man
Clothed, sober, sitting down;
By darkness bound they asked the Lord
To leave their coastal town.
With earnest plea the man desired
To go with Christ, but He
Sent back the man to tell his friends
“See what God did for me.”
The next time Jesus went that way
A crowd came out to see,
He healed a man and they rejoiced –
How changed our hearts can be!
Perhaps your field seems worse than dry,
You feel your work is vain;
This story offers hope and cheer
To those who will remain.
