On All Three Counts
(Isaiah 58:13)
O Lord, I find I’m guilty
On all three counts today.
I come to You for pardon;
Despise me not, I pray.
I see that I have chosen
To go my own way, Lord,
And that I have not followed
Your Spirit and Your Word.
I’ve sought the world’s vain pleasures
Though they can never last,
Rejecting Yours, dear Savior,
Though they are unsurpassed.
I know that I have spoken
With my rebellious tongue
My words instead of Yours, Lord;
My songs, not Yours, I’ve sung.
Forgive me, gracious Savior,
Wash white the crimson stain,
Renew my thoughts and habits,
And shatter sin’s strong chain.
Revive me by Your Spirit
Until I only do
And speak, Lord, and desire
The things that honor You.
