Sometimes the Path Is Bumpy
Sometimes the path is bumpy
On which we walk through life
With roots and stones to trip us
And lined with grief and strife.
But Jesus went before us
To prove it leads above
Where He is kindly waiting
To welcome us in love.
Our Father made the pathway
And clears it day by day
So we won’t face a problem
That turns our soul away.
The Spirit walks beside us
To comfort, cheer, and guide –
His help to those who seek Him
Will never be denied.
So when the path is sunlit,
Or lonely, dark, and long,
The Lord Himself is with us
And He will give a song.
