This Year’s Blessings
This year with all its blessings
Its sorrow and delight
Has been a sort of window
To bring God’s grace to light.
I’ve seen my Father’s goodness,
His kindness, love, and care,
I’ve sensed His loving presence
And known He’s always there.
I’ve seen my sinful weakness,
And yet I’ve also grown
In trusting and obeying
The path the Lord has shown.
I’ve seen the strength of friendship
That’s just as strong at night
As in the blaze of morning
When all is glad and bright.
I’ve seen the faithful working
That shows God hears my prayer
And answers in His wisdom
With mercy, strength, and care.
I’ve seen such loving favor
In blessings day by day
That show my Savior’s presence
Along life’s winding way.
Lord, thank You for these blessings
You’ve given me this year
That show Your love and power
And make Your goodness clear.

True Hope
True hope is found in Jesus Christ
And in His endless love,
It is the anchor of my soul
Secured by God above.
True hope is having peace with God
Since Jesus died for me,
It’s knowing He’s forgiven me
And made me new and free.
True hope is trusting Him each day
Because I know He’s near
To guide my footsteps and to bless
So I don’t need to fear.
True hope is looking for the Lord
To take me home at last
Where I will see Him face to face
When sin and pain are past.
True hope is knowing Jesus Christ
And trusting Him each day
Because His Word is always true
And guides me all the way.

God didn’t say we’d understand
Each thing that He allows,
Or that we’d always see His hand
And know the why’s and how’s.
But He has said He’s always near
And that He’ll bring us through,
That He will catch each falling tear
And strengthen and renew.
And He has said He’ll turn to good
The things His children face;
Since Jesus in temptation stood
He gives sufficient grace.
So when we cannot understand
The troubles of today,
We simply need to trust His hand
And He will make a way.

This Precious Book
Lord, thank You for this precious Book
That speaks to me Your love,
That set me in the way of life
And guides my steps above.
Dear Spirit, give me eyes to see
My Savior in each word,
And help me know how I should live
The things I’ve read and heard.
Please shape my plans and my desires,
Transform my heart and mind;
Help me believe what You have said
And every promise kind.
O, burn its truth within my heart
To shape both thought and deed,
That I might be a living book
For those around to read.
Lord, thank You for this precious Book
That speaks to me Your grace;
Each day I’ll seek and love its truth
Until I see Your face.

Will You Trust Him?
Is this sufficient reason:
The One who died for you
Has lovingly ordained it
In what He’d have you do?
Are you content to follow
Because He says it’s best
Though you can’t see the outcome
And know that it’s a test?
Will you be still and trust Him
Because You know His love
And rest upon His promise
That He will lead above?
For He will bless the faithful
Who choose His perfect way
And humbly walk beside Him
In trusting love each day.

Life’s Little Signposts
The Lord can use so many things
As signposts on our way
To guide and make us more like Christ
Or catch us when we stray
We catch a glimpse of something good
From some unlikely source
Then take that vision through our lives
To guide our winding course
We overhear some chance remark
And by it see the light
In which we walk along life’s path
To make obscure things bright
We feel or see some love or care
That strangely warms the soul
Which goes with us to hold and share
And makes our life more whole
We sense a warning in the air
That stops us in our tracks
And keeps us from some foolish choice
Before it takes its tax
They seem so random, all these things
Our Father kindly sends,
But each is chosen to display
The love He freely spends
So when He sends these little helps
In any form or place
Let’s quickly let them shape our course
And thank Him for His grace
