God Didn’t Have to Care
Enthroned in perfect splendor
God didn’t have to care
About rebellious creatures
Who sinned and faced despair.
Yet love defined His nature –
He wouldn’t turn away
From those that He’d created
Though we had gone astray.
He felt our pain and sorrow
And grieved that we were lost;
He set His mind to save us
Despite the awful cost.
He left the light and glory,
The worship and the praise,
To share a world we’d broken
With all our sinful ways.
Then, when He’d faced temptation,
He took sin’s heavy load
And died the death we’d chosen
To pay the debt we owed.
Though crucified He triumphed –
He rose to crush our foe
And offer free salvation
To all who dwell below.
Now risen and exalted,
The God-man gladly bears
The marks of our redemption
Which make us sons and heirs.
Enthroned in perfect splendor
He reaches down in love
To save the lost and give us
His endless life above.

A Stone of Purest White
Revelation 2:17
I’ll stand before God’s holy throne
And meet my Judge someday;
I have no fear because in Christ
I know just what He’ll say.
He’ll give a stone of purest white
Which He has promised me;
It shows the verdict – innocent –
And serves as heaven’s key.
And in that stone a precious name,
For I will be His own;
The Lord will claim me on that day
I stand before His throne.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” Revelation 2:17
Blown Away by Grace
I’m blown away by all the grace
You show me every day,
The thoughtful things You kindly place
Just so along my way.
The loving thoughts I know You think
That show in how You care,
The way You make life’s troubles shrink
By simply being there.
The countless ways You daily show
You want what’s best for me
And prove how well You really know
The things I like to see.
No words will do to try to say
The thank you of my heart,
But I will try again today
To say another part.

He Faced the Cross for Me
He took my sin and faced the cross
Then counted gain what first was loss;
He saw the joy that pain obscured,
And endless life through death secured.
Though He was rich, He came here poor,
The God that sinners would ignore;
Though He was great, He served the least
And through His death, death’s chains released.
He rose again though He had died,
Though once made low was magnified;
The Lamb once slain now lives above
And reigns supreme the Lord of love.
He offers life instead of death,
Gives purpose for each fleeting breath;
Through serving Him He sets us free
To gain a prize we cannot see.
Amazing love! Amazing grace!
That God Himself would take my place;
He died to give His life to me –
I’ll praise Him through eternity.

This Year’s Blessings
This year with all its blessings
Its sorrow and delight
Has been a sort of window
To bring God’s grace to light.
I’ve seen my Father’s goodness,
His kindness, love, and care,
I’ve sensed His loving presence
And known He’s always there.
I’ve seen my sinful weakness,
And yet I’ve also grown
In trusting and obeying
The path the Lord has shown.
I’ve seen the strength of friendship
That’s just as strong at night
As in the blaze of morning
When all is glad and bright.
I’ve seen the faithful working
That shows God hears my prayer
And answers in His wisdom
With mercy, strength, and care.
I’ve seen such loving favor
In blessings day by day
That show my Savior’s presence
Along life’s winding way.
Lord, thank You for these blessings
You’ve given me this year
That show Your love and power
And make Your goodness clear.
