I’ll Use What God Has Given
I’ll use the voice God gave me
To praise His holy Name,
I’ll use the tongue He gave me
To spread His worthy fame.
I’ll use the hands God gave me
To serve the Lord today,
I’ll use the feet He gave me
To walk in heaven’s way.
I’ll use the mind God gave me
To think on things above,
I’ll use the heart He gave me
To learn and share His love.
I’ll use the time God gave me
To do the tasks He’ll show,
I’ll use the things God gave me
To build His work below.
I’ll use the life God gave me
To love Him and obey,
I’ll use what God has given
To worship Him today.

Heaven’s Welcome
I almost see the welcome
That’s waiting just for you
Beyond the gates of heaven
When you have stepped right through:
The glowing light of heaven –
God’s presence all around,
The sweetest songs all filling
The air with joyful sound,
The pure and lovely fragrance
Of home sweet home at last,
The wide-awake, glad feeling
Of life when pain is past,
The dear ones gone before you
All gathered round the throne,
The fuller understanding
Of all you’ve ever known,
And best of all the Savior
Who’ll welcome you above
To share His life forever
In perfect peace and love.

“For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:11
Psalm 23:5
Though troubles hover near me
And clouds are overhead,
I’m eating at the table
My Shepherd’s love has spread.
Though countless foes may gather
And stormy winds may blow,
I’m tasting of the blessings
My Father’s children know.
Yes, here within the trials,
Amidst the swirling strife,
He’s spread a lavish banquet
To give me joy and life.

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” Psalm 23:5
As This Year Is Starting
Lord, as this year is starting
I give myself to You
To honor Christ my Savior
In all I say and do.
I’ll trust Your kind provision
For all the things You’ve planned;
I’ll look for how You’re working
And watch Your guiding hand.
I’ll follow where you’re leading
Because You know the way,
And even in the valley
My heart won’t doubt or stray.
I’ll keep your good commandments
And guard my heart and soul
To please my Lord and Savior
And yield to His control.
I’ll turn from sin and evil,
Confess when I’ve been wrong,
And build up godly habits
Through Christ who makes me strong.
I’ll daily search the Scriptures
And talk with You in prayer;
I’ll seek to know You better
And give You every care.
I’ll show Your love to others
And bear the gospel light
Of life and free salvation
For heaven’s just in sight.
I’ll love my Christian brothers
And sisters day by day
In fellowship and service
To bless them on their way.
I’ll help the weak and weary
And lift the ones who fall
Like Jesus whose compassion
Reached down to save us all.
I’ll keep my eye on heaven
That place where I belong
Where treasures last forever
And nothing dims the song.
I’ll praise Your Name with gladness
And thank You for Your love;
I’ll tell about Your glory
Until I’m home above.
Lord, fill me with Your Spirit,
And help me walk with You
In holy love and service
As Jesus Christ would do.

A Childhood Memory
I saw those old Brach’s peppermints
This Christmas at the store –
The tears began and took me back
Through recollection’s door.
I seemed to see dear farmer Hann
In boots and coveralls
Come walking up beside me there
As in the old church halls.
Where every week he’d search me out
And say these words I hear:
Just, “Jesus loves you, I do too.”
So simple yet so clear.
He’d search that big, deep pocket through
To find a mint for me –
His words were etched in red and white
Upon my heart, you see.
You never know how God can use
A simple act of love
To touch a heart, to shape a life,
To point a soul above.

Based on a true story I heard
Eternal God
Eternal God, the Lord of time,
To You we give our days
That all we do may honor You
And bring You lasting praise.
Redeeming God, Salvation’s Door,
To You we bring our souls
That grace might shine and show Your worth
While heaven’s glory rolls.
Providing God, our Father kind,
To You we lift our needs
That You might show Your tender love
And work Your mighty deeds.
Creator God whose hand sustains,
For You we live and die
That by our lives Your Name alone
Might be exalted high.
