The Prayers I Forget
My Father remembers the prayers I forget,
He isn’t distracted by all that is near;
He waits till the timing is perfectly set,
And then He reminds me, “You asked for this, dear.”
So when I am anxious about a request,
I’ll think how He’s answered the prayers I forgot;
I’ll trust He’ll remember and give me what’s best
Then lay down the worry and fear that I brought
How sweet to consider what love and what care
Are evidenced freely in answers to prayer!
There’s no one so tender with whom to compare
God’s goodness, compassion, and grace – each so rare.

I’m clinging to His promises,
And trusting in His Word,
That He is with me to the end –
My Guide and Light, my Lord.
He says He knows me by my name
And loves me as His own,
He bids me bring each small request
With big ones to His throne.
He holds the waters in His hand
He set the bounds they keep,
With Him as Guard they will not flood,
And He will never sleep.
He is my Hope, my Trust, my Rock,
My Hiding Place secure.
I trust in all His promises –
In Him I will endure

Guide Me
From Proverbs 3:5-6
With all my heart I trust You, Lord,
I trust Your way is best,
And I believe Your every Word –
In Your good will I rest.
I often cannot understand
The details of Your way,
But I submit my mind to You
To follow You each day.
Your plan holds blessings and success –
The praise to You is due.
Yours be the glory in my life –
I’m not ashamed of You.
Lord, as I trust, acknowledge You
You promise to supply
Direction through the paths of life
And guidance with Your eye.

Lord, here am I, Your servant,
Awaiting Your command,
Desirous of Your blessing,
And looking to Your hand.
I know that You have promised
To guide me, and that You
Have planned and have established
Good works for me to do.
Teach me to hear Your bidding.
Teach me to see Your way.
Allow me, dearest Savior,
To serve You day by day.

My life’s goal is: To know, love, and serve God, and point others to Him. This poem expands on that thought in prayer.
Know, Love, Serve, Point
Dear God, we want to know You,
Your character and ways,
That we might bring You worship –
You’re worthy of our praise.
And then we’ll truly love You
With heart, soul, mind, and strength
As we see how You love us –
The breadth and height and length.
That love will look like service
To You and for Your sake –
Kind deeds, small words of comfort,
Forgiving a mistake.
And as we love and serve You,
We’ll point with deed and word
The people all around us
To Christ our living Lord.
May every thought remind us
Along our upward way,
To know, love, serve, and point to
Our glorious God each day.
