I’m on the King’s business,
His servant am I,
Selected by Jesus
To serve the Most High.
How could I be bothered
Or find it a chore?
The least task takes meaning
From Whom it is for.
Each duty is joyful,
Each burden is light,
Since serving my Sovereign
Is such a delight.
I’m on the Kings business,
His servant am I,
Oh just to be faithful
And serve Him on high.

Lord, here am I, Your servant,
Awaiting Your command,
Desirous of Your blessing,
And looking to Your hand.
I know that You have promised
To guide me, and that You
Have planned and have established
Good works for me to do.
Teach me to hear Your bidding.
Teach me to see Your way.
Allow me, dearest Savior,
To serve You day by day.

My life’s goal is: To know, love, and serve God, and point others to Him. This poem expands on that thought in prayer.
Know, Love, Serve, Point
Dear God, we want to know You,
Your character and ways,
That we might bring You worship –
You’re worthy of our praise.
And then we’ll truly love You
With heart, soul, mind, and strength
As we see how You love us –
The breadth and height and length.
That love will look like service
To You and for Your sake –
Kind deeds, small words of comfort,
Forgiving a mistake.
And as we love and serve You,
We’ll point with deed and word
The people all around us
To Christ our living Lord.
May every thought remind us
Along our upward way,
To know, love, serve, and point to
Our glorious God each day.

2016
A fresh new year to love my God,
To serve my Lord and King,
To praise Him and recount His deeds,
To trust, to hope, to sing.
A budding year in which to watch
God’s perfect plan unfold,
And, in each petal, grace and love
With mercy to behold.
Three hundred days with sixty-six
To live for Jesus’ sake,
In which to trust His promises
Since He’ll make no mistake.
Here, Lord, this year of mine is Yours
As I am Yours alone,
Throughout this year show me Your ways
Your mercies to make known.

Please consider this poem I was asked to write and read for a human trafficking awareness event:
My days are filled with sorrow,
With heaviness and pain,
With fear that holds me captive –
A tool of other’s gain.
Is there a friend or sister
Who hears my groans, my tears,
And cares enough to tell me
A word which ends all fears?
A word of hope that Jesus
Became a man to live
A life of shame and suffering
This hope to me to give.
A word of hope that Jesus,
Though sinless, came to die,
To bear my sin and anguish,
To suffer, hunger, sigh.
A word of hope that Jesus,
Now risen, lives above,
And that He wants to save me,
Give me His matchless love.
O sister, are you willing
To feel the pain I feel
That you might tell a sinner
Of One whose wounds can heal?
He can forgive and heal me,
His love can make me whole.
Will you reach out and tell me
The value of my soul?
