The Cusp of the Year

We’re on the cusp of one more year
That God has planned to show
The wonders of His love and grace
To all who live below.

Another year is blooming now
To show His strength and might,
To bring the gospel to the world
That they might see the light.

Each day parades just like the last
To anthems strong and clear
Of praise to God who guides their path
And sets them in the year.

He will reveal His tender care,
His judgment strong and just,
His great salvation, and His grace
For those who on Him trust.

Some things will shake our feeble faith
To strengthen it again
As we behold the wonders of
God’s perfect, changeless plan.

Through tears and joy, if we will watch,
We’ll see the vast display
Of God’s delightful character
In each unfolding day.

I’m looking forward to this year,
Whatever it may hold,
Because I want to know my God,
His wonders I’ll behold.
