The Source of Joy

My joy is not depending
On others that I know
Or on success, but rather
On Christ who loves me so.

Though other friends may fail me,
Attempts may meet decline,
My joy is resting only
On Jesus who is mine.

Though earth’s success or riches
May line the path I take,
My joy is found in Jesus
Who cannot fail or break.

Rejoice, my soul, for Jesus
Is just the same today
As when He died to save me
And wash my sins away.
