“Help me to see
how good Thy will is in all,
and even when it crosses mine
teach me to be pleased with it.”
– The Valley of Vision
Is that our prayer today? Can we honestly and earnestly plead, as our Savior did, “Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but Thine, be done.”
Samuel Rutherford once explained, “If you saw Him, who is standing on the shore, holding out His arms to welcome you to land, you would not only wade through a sea of wrongs, but through hell itself, to be at Him.”
Dear Savior, help me understand
Your all-sufficient grace,
That in each trial I might stand
And view Your blessed face.
Dear Shepherd guide me through each day
Through rain and storm or sun;
And teach my heart to always say,
‘Thy will, not mine, be done.’
