We sometimes feel our effort’s lost
When we don’t see results,
When setbacks seem to cancel good
And highlight all our faults.
But God commissioned us to speak,
To pray, to do what’s right;
He did not call us to change hearts
Or make them see the light.
The outcome is God’s work alone –
Our part but to obey.
And His reward and smile are ours
Our labors to repay.
