Who is this God I love and serve
Who gave His Son for me?
What honors does His Name deserve
Whose love has set me free?
He is the Lord of life and light,
Of righteousness and peace;
The God of justice, grace, and right
Whose glories can’t increase.
He is Creator of all things –
Sustainer, Master, Guide –
His wisdom all creation sings,
His strength can’t be denied.
He is the Savior of all men –
Who gave His only Son,
Who died for me and lives again,
Who’ll do what He’s begun.
He is the King, the Judge, the Way,
Beginning and the End;
He does not change from day to day,
On Him all things depend.
All glory, majesty, and praise
With honor, worship, fear
Are due to Him whose wondrous ways
In everything appear.
No mortal tongue, no creature’s voice
Can offer all He’s due;
And yet He chooses to rejoice
In praise from me and you.
How wonderful the God I love!
How bright His glories gleam!
In life and death – here and above –
May He be all my theme.

How can this work for good,
This sorrow, grief, and pain?
Can this be understood
To turn to joy and gain?
This side of heaven’s light
The mists so often hide
The answers out of sight
And faith must be my guide.
But through it I can see
God’s promise in His Word –
What He allows will be
To make me like my Lord.
Lord, give me faith to rest
And give me eyes to see
That all your ways are best –
Ordained in love for me.
I do not understand,
But, Lord I will believe
That from Your gracious hand
New strength I will receive.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to His purpose.
For whom He did foreknow,
He also did predestinate
to be conformed to the image of His Son,
that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
Romans 8:28-29
A meek, repentant spirit
To me, dear Lord, impart,
A humble, true confession
For grieving Your kind heart.
A deep, renewed awareness
Of my own sinfulness,
A fresh, awakened conscience
That hates unfaithfulness.
A mourning, grieved admission
Of what I’ve really done,
A faith-filled, trusting asking
For pardon through Your Son.
A glad, refreshed communion
With You, dear Lord, renew,
A humble, loving walking
Each day, each hour with You.

Shining for Jesus
I want to shine for Jesus Christ
A candle bright and clear
So all around can see His love
Which pierces earth’s dark fear
I want my face to shine for Him
Like Moses long ago
So I will read His Word and pray
Till with His grace I glow
I want my life to shine for Him
Like John the Baptist’s did
So I will speak glad gospel news
It’s grace will not be hid
I want my eyes to shine for Him
Like Stephen’s as he died
So I will heed the Spirit’s voice
And in His strength abide
I want to shine with grace and love
To glorify my Lord
So I may see His glorious light
My endless bright reward

My God is Almighty, unchangeably right,
There’s nothing to stop Him by day or by night.
He spoke into being all things that exist;
By His hand of mercy, they move and consist.
His plan is eternal, His will is divine,
No kingdom or angels can thwart His design.
What He has established forever remains;
He does what He pleases, His strength He maintains
He’s mighty and sovereign – my God’s in control;
He guides stars and planets yet cares for my soul.
He watches each sparrow and counts all my hair;
He loves to delight me and answers my prayer.
Lord, thank You for loving and caring for me,
For guiding my footsteps – Your kindness I see.
I trust in Your purpose, I’ll look for Your hand
As seen in the blessings Your mercy has planned.
Being the Light
God put His light inside me
To show the world His love –
His precious Holy Spirit
Sent from His throne above.
So it would not be normal
To hide the light He gave,
Instead I should reflect it
To show that Christ can save.
It is my Lord’s commission
To shine both clear and bright
Since light brings life and pierces
The darkness of the night.
This light is for the nations,
For everyone I meet,
It’s for my home and household
To shine both pure and sweet.
My light is seen by others
In what I say and do
To glorify my Father –
“I see the Lord in you.”
