My Prayer for You

My Prayer for You

My Prayer for You

I lifted your name to the Father
And asked Him to bless you today,
I asked Him to guide and sustain you
Each step of your heavenward way.

I mentioned your needs to the Father
And asked Him to amply provide,
I asked Him to show you His goodness
That always stays close by your side.

I spoke of your work to the Father
And asked Him to richly reward,
I asked Him to prosper your service
That honors our Savior and Lord.

I offered up praise to the Father
And lovingly thanked Him for you,
I asked Him to load you with blessings
And crown you with favor anew.

I’ll Carry It Today

I’ll Carry It Today

I’ll Carry It Today

Dear child, you know I love you,
I care about your tears,
I want to bear your burdens
And calm your doubts and fears.

This load that you’ve been wearing
Is far too big for you,
But I will gladly take it
If you’ll just trust me to.

I’m strong – it will not hurt me,
I’m wise – I’ll understand,
I’m kind – I want to help you,
I’m good – so trust my hand.

Lay down this heavy burden
And let it roll away,
Release the strain and worry –
I’ll carry it today.

Come, See! The God of Heaven

Come, See! The God of Heaven

Come, see! The God of heaven
Is walking on this earth;
The angels He created
Announce His humble birth.

Come, see! The God of heaven
Is healing blind and lame
And making friends of outcasts
Who call upon His Name.

Come, see! The God of heaven
Is dying on the tree –
The innocent found guilty
To pardon you and me.

Come, see! The God of heaven
Is rising from the grave
Exalted and triumphant
To prove His pow’r to save.

Come, see! The God of heaven
Ascending to His throne
To intercede forever
For those He calls His own.

Come, see! The God of heaven
Is coming back to reign
With all His saints who follow
Exultant in His train.

Come, see! The God of heaven
Is making all things new.
Our King and our Redeemer
We bring our praise to You!

The Things We Choose

The Things We Choose

The Things We Choose

The Scriptures we have treasured
When days are glad and bright
Become a kind of lifeline
When day has turned to night.

The hymns we love so dearly
When things are going fine
Become a kind of anchor
When hope is on the line.

The friendships we have nurtured
When life is at its best
Become a kind of safeguard
When troubles bring a test.

The things we choose to dwell on
When everything is good
Are what we’ll have in trials –
Let’s choose the things we should.

Where all My Hopes Are Built

Where all My Hopes Are Built

Where all My Hopes Are Built

Yes, I deserve to die,
My sin condemns my soul;
And by myself I can’t escape
Or shake its full control.

But Jesus died for me –
He took my sin and guilt,
He paid my debt upon the cross
Where all my hopes are built.

Now I am free indeed
For Christ has set me free!
He rose again and gave me life
For all eternity.

Henceforth I live in Him
And heed His loving call.
With grateful thanks I praise His Name
For He’s my all in all.

The One I Will Praise

The One I Will Praise

The One I Will Praise

God orders my steps with compassion,
His mercies are new every day;
He knows what will come and prepares me,
He teaches my heart what to pray.

His goodness is strong and unfailing,
His faithfulness flows from above,
His grace is more sure than the mountains,
He anchors my hope in His love.

There’s no one so kind and so patient,
His holiness shines like the sun;
He showers my path with His blessings
And meets all my needs one by one.

The Lord is my strength and my portion,
My trust and the hope of my days,
The source of my life and my Savior,
My refuge, the One I will praise.

The Good from Pain

The Good from Pain

The Good from Pain

It’s not the pain itself
A Christian greets with joy,
But rather what it helps us gain
When in the Lord’s employ.

Like Jesus Christ we pray,
Lord, must this cup be mine?
But then we yield to One we trust:
Lord, not my will, but Thine.

For in the midst of pain
We find His loving care;
And patience has its perfect work
In sorrow borne through prayer.

We look ahead in hope
To what we soon will gain,
And then, like Jesus, we can bear
This fleeting, earthly pain.

Lord, make me more like Christ
As You have said You would;
Please be my Strength and Comforter,
And turn this pain to good.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” James 1:2-3

“Saying, Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but Thine, be done.” Luke 22:42

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 43:2

“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:” Romans 5:3-4

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:28-29

Now I See Him

Now I See Him

Now I See Him

I knew God through the time I spent
In Scripture and in prayer,
I heard Him in the still small voice
That showed His tender care.

I saw Him in His mighty works
And little blessings too,
The things He sent to show His love
And prove His Word was true.

But now I see Him with my eyes
And truly hear His voice,
I know Him as He knew me then –
It makes my heart rejoice!

The things I prayed for those I love
I’ve asked Him face to face,
And He’s assured me He will work
With strong and loving grace.

He’s just the same as what He said
So, trust in Him today –
Proclaim His love, believe His Word,
And seek Him as you pray.

True Hope

True Hope

True Hope

True hope is found in Jesus Christ
And in His endless love,
It is the anchor of my soul
Secured by God above.

True hope is having peace with God
Since Jesus died for me,
It’s knowing He’s forgiven me
And made me new and free.

True hope is trusting Him each day
Because I know He’s near
To guide my footsteps and to bless
So I don’t need to fear.

True hope is looking for the Lord
To take me home at last
Where I will see Him face to face
When sin and pain are past.

True hope is knowing Jesus Christ
And trusting Him each day
Because His Word is always true
And guides me all the way.

A Thankful Day

A Thankful Day

A Thankful Day

Today I’ll have a thankful day
And lift my heart in praise
For all the Lord has done for me
In big and little ways.

For sunny skies and healing rain,
For labor and for rest,
For friends and loved ones near and far –
How richly I’ve been blessed!

Though I may shed a tear or two,
My day will still be bright,
Because a thankful attitude
Makes any day alright.

Lord, thank You most of all for grace,
For always being there,
For saving me and showing me
Such tender, loving care.
