Why would I live a half-way life
That’s half-way for the Lord
And half-way for a world of sin
Which gives no real reward?
Why would I ask how much a saint
Can hold to here below
While squeaking in past heaven’s gate
Where living waters flow?
Instead I’ll ask how much of Christ
A sinful heart can hold,
How much of all His precious grace
A mortal can behold.
I’ll ask how much a sinner here
Can do for Christ above
And how to live all out for Him –
A showpiece of His love.
I want to live whole-heartedly
To please the Lord I love
And lay up treasures that will last
Through endless years above.
